The picturesque town of Tuolumne, California lies nestled in a valley at the edge of the North Fork Tuolumne River canyon, guarded by towering Duckwall mountain.

Tuolumne was first settled by the Native American Me-Wuks, then by pioneer emigrants and later by those drawn by the Gold Rush and finally by lumber barons who laid out the current townsite around the West Side Lumber Mill which supported the town for more than 60 years.
